Pangya World is a free, non-commercial fan project. This page explains what information we keep when you use this website and the Pangya World game servers, why we keep it, and what you can ask us to do with it.
1. What we collect
- Account details: your login ID, your password (stored only as a hash, never as plain text), your nickname, your email address, and what you give us when you sign up: your birthday, your sex, and a secret question and answer (the answer is stored only as a hash).
- Game data: your characters, items, Pang, Cookies, scores, rankings, achievements, mail, friends and guild membership, like any online game.
- Connection data: the IP address you connect from and the time, when you log in to the website or the game, and when a login or a gift code attempt fails.
- Server logs: the game servers write logs of what happens in the game (for example logins, purchases, item changes and chat) so we can fix problems and deal with cheating or abuse.
2. Cookies
The website uses one cookie, pw_session, which keeps you logged in. It holds a random
code, not your password, and can't be read by scripts on the page. Without "Remember me" it is removed when
you close your browser (and stops working after 12 hours at most); with it, it lasts up to 30 days or until you log out. We don't use advertising,
tracking or analytics cookies.
3. How we use it
- To run your account and the game: logging in, saving your progress, delivering items and gift codes.
- To confirm your email address when you sign up, and to send you password reset links and login ID reminders when you ask for them. We don't send newsletters or advertising.
- Your birthday makes sure players are 13 or older; your secret question can help prove an account is yours.
- To keep accounts safe: limiting repeated wrong passwords or codes, and spotting abuse.
- To show public game information: your nickname can appear in rankings, in-game shouts and similar lists on this website. Your login ID and email are never shown to other players.
4. Sharing
We don't sell your information or share it with advertisers. It stays on our server. We would only hand information over if the law required us to.
This website doesn't load anything from other companies. Links to other sites (such as Discord or driver downloads) take you to services with their own privacy policies.
Emails we send you (sign-up confirmations, password reset links and login ID reminders) go out through our email provider, Namecheap Private Email, which handles them only to deliver them.
5. How long we keep it
Account and game data are kept while your account exists. Failed login records are kept for about a day, login sessions until they expire, and server logs for as long as they are useful for fixing problems.
6. Your choices
You can change your password and nickname on your profile page. To ask what we hold about you, or to have your account and its data deleted, contact us on our Discord or at support@pangya.world. We may ask you to prove the account is yours first.
7. Children
Pangya World is not meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly keep information about them. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, contact us and we will remove it.
8. Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your information, but no system is perfectly safe. Please use a password you don't use anywhere else.
9. Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Important changes will also be announced on the website or Discord.
