Getting started
- Make an account. One account works for the website and the game. Sign-ups are closed right now; follow our Discord to hear when they open.
- Get beta access. The game is in a closed beta. Beta access comes with a gift code: redeem it under Redeem Giftcode on your profile.
- Install the game. The client download is coming soon on the Download page.
- Log in and make your character. On your first login you choose a character and a nickname. The nickname is what other players see.
- Play the tutorial. It walks you through the basics with Pippin, and it's the quickest way to learn the controls.
Your first shot
A normal shot takes three clicks:
- Start the power bar.
- Set the power with the second click: the further along the bar, the further the ball goes.
- Hit with the third click as the marker comes back to the impact zone. The closer to the centre, the straighter the shot. Hit it dead centre for a "Pangya!": a perfect shot.
- Aim left and right before you swing, and pick the right club for the distance.
- Watch the wind. The arrow and number show where it blows and how strong; aim into it to make up for it.
- Mind the ground. Fairway is easiest; rough, sand and slopes cost you distance or accuracy. Avoid water and out of bounds (OB): they cost strokes.
- The top view and the camera help you check the landing spot before you shoot.
Putting
- On the green, use the grid to read the slope: the ball rolls downhill, so aim a little uphill of the hole.
- Use less power than you think on downhill putts, and a bit more uphill.
- Long putts are about distance; short ones are about the line.
Special shots
Good shots fill your power gauge. Spend it on a power shot for extra distance, or on PangYa's famous special shots, like the high-flying Tomahawk, the dropping Spike and the low, skimming Cobra. Each one changes how the ball flies and rolls, so try them on easy holes first. Your character's stats and your club change how far and how straight you hit, too.
Pang & Cookies
- Pang is the money you win by playing: finish rounds, play well, win matches.
- Cookies are the special currency. On Pangya World there is nothing to buy with real money: Cookies come from events and gift codes.
- Spend them in the shop on clothes, clubs, caddies and items, or try your luck at the Papel Shop and other machines. See the Shop pages for what's new.
- Items sent to you (gift codes, events, Golden Time prizes) arrive in your in-game mailbox.
Game modes
- Stroke play: everyone plays the holes; the fewest strokes wins.
- Match play: win hole by hole against your opponent.
- Tournaments and events: bigger rooms, prizes and special rules. Watch the News and the event calendar on the homepage.
- The Lounge: hang out, chat and meet other players.
